The Gateway Wizard is one of the most recognizable putters in disc golf, a straight-flying overstable putter that has been a staple on courses and in putting routines for decades. This one comes in Gateway's Super Stupid Soft (SSS) plastic in black, stamped with the LA palm tree logo.
SSS is Gateway's softest plastic blend, giving the Wizard an almost rubbery feel in the hand. It grips the chains reliably in cold or wet conditions, and the soft flex makes it comfortable for both putting strokes and short approach shots. Durability is lower than firm plastics, but the trade-off is exceptional grip and a natural, broken-in feel right out of the bag.
Speed 2 / Glide 3 / Turn 0 / Fade 2. The Wizard flies with a flat, controlled trajectory and finishes with a dependable fade at the end. It holds hyzer lines cleanly and resists turning over in a headwind, making it a reliable choice for fade-finishing approach shots and short hyzer putts from inside the circle.
This disc features the LA palm tree logo stamp in silver on the black disc, a clean and recognizable regional design.
Newer players will appreciate the Wizard's predictable, low-speed flight and forgiving fade, making it easy to learn consistent putting form. It also works well as a straight approach disc for anyone who wants a putter that finishes where they aim it.
