Our Commitment
Disc.Market is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards across our website and mobile apps.
Accessibility is treated as a requirement of our product, not an afterthought. New features are built and reviewed against the standard described below before they ship.
Conformance Status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It has three levels: A, AA, and AAA.
Disc.Market aims to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. "Conform" means we meet the Level A and Level AA success criteria. We assess our conformance through a combination of automated testing, manual keyboard-only testing, and screen-reader review of our most important flows (browsing the marketplace, search, account sign-in, and checkout).
Measures We Take
To support accessibility, Disc.Market:
- Provides a "Skip to main content" link and consistent page landmarks (header, navigation, main, footer) for screen-reader and keyboard users.
- Ensures interactive controls are reachable and operable with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator.
- Gives form fields visible, programmatically-associated labels, and announces validation errors to assistive technology.
- Implements menus, dropdowns, and search filters with appropriate ARIA roles, states, and arrow-key navigation.
- Provides meaningful alternative text for images, and text-table equivalents for data charts.
- Maintains text-contrast ratios that meet WCAG AA, and never conveys information by color alone.
- Respects the operating-system "reduce motion" setting and does not disable browser zoom.
- Runs automated accessibility linting in our build process so new code is checked before release.
Compatibility
Disc.Market is built to be compatible with recent versions of major browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge) on desktop and mobile, used together with their built-in or commonly-paired assistive technologies (for example, VoiceOver, TalkBack, NVDA, and JAWS).
Accessibility may be reduced if you are using a browser or assistive technology that is several versions out of date. If you experience a problem, please update where you can and let us know — see below.
Known Limitations
Despite our efforts, some limitations may remain. Where parts of the experience are provided by third parties, we work to choose accessible providers and to offer an alternative path:
- Payment fields are provided by our payment processor (Stripe) inside a secure embedded frame. Their accessibility is maintained by the provider; if you have trouble completing a purchase, contact us and we can help.
- Maps and other embedded media may have limited accessibility; key information shown on a map is also available as text.
- User-generated content (such as listing photos and reviews from sellers) may not always include complete descriptions. We provide structured information (title, condition, price) as text alongside it.
If any of these prevent you from doing what you need, please tell us — we will help directly and prioritize a fix.
Tell Us About a Barrier
We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of Disc.Market. If you encounter a barrier, or need any content provided in a different format, please reach out:
- Use our contact form and choose the topic that fits — your message routes to our team.
Please tell us the page or feature involved, what you were trying to do, and the browser and assistive technology you were using. We aim to respond within one to two business days and will work with you on an accessible alternative while we resolve the underlying issue.
How This Statement Was Prepared
This statement reflects a site-wide accessibility assessment of Disc.Market measured against WCAG 2.1 Level AA. The assessment combined automated tooling, code review, manual keyboard-only testing, and screen-reader spot-checks of the core buyer and account flows. Accessibility is re-checked as part of our ongoing release process.
This statement is reviewed and updated as the site changes. It was last updated on the date shown above.
