This is an original First Run Latitude 64 Zion in the discontinued 2K Line Opto-G overmold plastic. It features a bright pink Opto flight plate paired with a contrasting white Gold Line outer rim and the original silver FIRST RUN factory stamp.
This is one of the original Zion releases and carries the early 9 | 3 | 0 | 4 flight numbers directly on the stamp. The Zion and Latitude 64's 2K overmold lineup are now out of production, making clean First Run examples increasingly difficult to find.
2K Line Opto-G was Latitude 64's premium two-piece overmold construction. The center flight plate is made from durable translucent Opto plastic while the separate outer rim is made from Gold Line plastic. Latitude 64 specifically called this combination Opto-G.
The result gives the Zion a distinctive two-color appearance and a different construction from Latitude 64's traditional single-piece premium discs.
9 | 3 | 0 | 4
These are the original flight numbers printed on this First Run Zion.
The first-run Zion was designed as a powerful, overstable control driver with a relatively flat profile, strong resistance to turn, and a dependable finishing fade. Contemporary coverage even compared the early Zion to an overmold Felon because of its strong stability.
Later references revised the numbers to 9 | 4 | -0.5 | 3, but the original stamped rating is the appropriate one for this particular First Run disc.
Forehand drives, controlled backhand hyzers, headwinds, flex lines, skip shots, power throwers, Latitude 64 collectors, discontinued mold collectors, and players specifically searching for Latitude 64's old 2K overmold lineup.
This is a genuine First Run Zion, clearly identified by the FIRST RUN factory stamp. The Zion received PDGA approval on October 8, 2017 and was produced using Latitude 64's 2K Line Opto-G construction with an Opto flight plate and Gold Line outer rim.
