This is from the original prototype period before the mold entered regular production under the Zeus name. Plastic & Feel Premium Discraft ESP plastic with the swirled and halo-style appearance associated with many of the original prototype Kong runs. ESP provides excellent durability with more grip and flexibility than traditional Z plastic. The green center and bright yellow outer color combined with the rainbow foil make this a particularly good-looking example of the prototype run. It offers a small amount of high-speed turn for distance before finishing with a strong and dependable fade. Prototype & Run Notes This disc comes from the original Paul McBeth prototype distance-driver run. The mold was PDGA approved on December 28, 2018 under the name Kong . Discraft later changed the production name to Zeus , and the PDGA certification now officially identifies it as “Zeus (renamed from Kong).” These prototype discs feature the simple Paul McBeth rectangular box stamp along with “Prototype Distance Driver” and the original 12 / 5 / -1 / 3 flight numbers. Retailers still identify these early discs as Prototype Kong/Zeus runs, with Sun King specifically describing them as Paul McBeth's first signature-series distance driver and noting that the mold was briefly called Kong.
