The Surge SS softens the standard Surge for players who are not there yet on power. It turns more readily out of the hand, rides that drift for a long stretch, and comes back with a gentler fade, which translates to easy distance for intermediate arms and clean hyzer flip lines for anyone. It also makes a fine tailwind driver. Big arms will flip it too far at full send, for them the regular Surge is the better tool.
